What do yous mean by coding? The JB4 is a piggy back and does non alter the ECU similar the flash based tunes similar Dinan or Cobb (but there are no flash based tunes available for the F30 yet anyway).

If the manufacturing plant is data logging (I assume they are), so I assume they could simply review your boost history, air flow readings, etc to see if you accept been modding; but, from what I accept gleaned from these boards is the tech's tin flag your machine if they physically see the tune so I would not get out it on personally.

Either way, if y'all accident a turbo and they call you on it, well, suck it up and pay up considering you knew the risk. Will they call you on it is the large question. My guess is that it will depend on what'south wrong with the car, the service writer and tech you are dealing with, and the relationship you lot have with the dealership.

Fact is the service team will always prefer client pay over warranty work considering it pays them more (sometimes a lot more than depending on the chore). So if yous come rolling into the shop with a jb4 hanging out, meth kit, and bald tires, do not be shocked when they endeavor to deny your slipping transmission. But, again, it will largely depend on the tech you are dealing with and what the trouble is. Some dealerships may be super strict and others not, or you may take hold of someone on a bad day. Best bet is 'out of site, out of listen'. Don't put them in a position to do something that may not otherwise want to practice.
